About Kévin Laumond
Kévin Laumond is one of those coaches who brings consistency, warmth, and a quiet but solid drive into every class he leads. With a background in Adapted Physical Activity and Health from Nancy, France, his mission is simple: make movement accessible and enjoyable for everybody.
He shared his studies with fellow ALGSO coach Quentin Bentz, and chose to focus not on the standard school gym route but on a career that allows him to accompany people living with various health conditions and abilities.
People with disabilities often lack proper access to adapted sports. I wanted to change that. It’s about sharing in their journey, supporting them, and passing on what I know.

An Interview with Kévin Laumond
I tell them: if you want to explore a different side of your body, come running with us. Walking is great, but running hits differently.

Why did you choose to become an adapted sports coach?
Sports have always been part of my life. But I realised early on that I didn’t want to be a typical PE teacher. I wanted to work in adapted sport. The training I did in Nancy covered a wide range of health challenges: from physical and mental disabilities to cancer, obesity, age-related changes, and more. It was up to us to choose our specialisation, and I naturally leaned toward working with people whose bodies or minds faced unique challenges.
What role do social bonds play in your classes?
They’re everything. Especially in the Advanced Running group, where the participants have become real friends. They train together, they talk, they support each other. And even outside the class, they stay in touch. That connection motivates people to come back week after week.
Tell us about Merlin!
He’s my White Swiss Shepherd. He’s our little mascot. I bring him along to running classes and summer walking sessions. He’s super cuddly and the participants love him. Of course, if someone were afraid, I’d make sure to keep him at a distance, but honestly, he’s part of the team.

What’s your secret for a good class atmosphere?
Good mood and a smile. That’s the base. Also: music helps, and I’m always open to requests!
Is there a fun fact most people don’t know about you?
I regularly eat fast food during the week, 2 to 3 times a week… But I’m lucky, it’s not noticeable.
A personal message from Kévin:
Really listen to what your body is telling you, and manage your pace according to how you feel.
