Saturday 4 October 2025 – Hesperange Park

Pink trainers? Check. Heart full of hope? Double check.
It’s time for Broschtkriibslaf 2025 – and this year, ALGSO is going all in.

ALGSO's instagram post announcing their participation in the Broschtkriibslaf 2025 charity run Luxembourg.

A Morning of Movement, Meaning, and Pink-Powered Unity πŸ’—

Each year, on a Saturday in October, something extraordinary happens in Luxembourg: a community comes together in motion β€” not just to walk or run, but to honour lives touched by breast cancer, to raise awareness, and to celebrate resilience.

With over 2,700 participants in the last edition, Broschtkriibslaf is Luxembourg’s largest breast cancer awareness event, organised by Europa Donna Luxembourg. This non-competitive, family-friendly 5km course is for everyone β€” whether you jog, walk, or strut your stuff in a pink feather boa.

At ALGSO, we don’t just show up. We show up as a team.
We’ll have a stand at the event village, we’ll be selling our ALGSO t-shirts, yummy biscuits and more, and we’ll be walking the course together β€” dressed in pink, proud, and full of heart.

Why It Matters – And Why It’s Personal πŸŽ—οΈ

Cancer touches us all.

Whether you’ve experienced it yourself, held the hand of a loved one through their journey, or truly believe in the power of a supportive and loving community, this is the place for you.

Broschtkriibslaf 2025 is a chance to be part of something beautiful and impactful.
Not only will you get those steps in, but you will be swept up by the overwhelming tide of love, support and solidarity.

This is Luxembourg showing up for those who need it, not because we have to, but because we want to.

Every pink t-shirt, boa, scarf or shoe is a statement:

“We see you.”

“You’re not alone.”

“We walk for you.”

At ALGSO, our mission is to promote movement as a form of healing, especially for people living with or beyond cancer. Events like Broschtkriibslaf echo that message loud and clear. And when we show up as a group, we don’t just raise awareness β€” we raise each other.

We want to extend a huge thank you to Europa Donna Luxembourg for organising this incredible event. For all the hard-work, love and dedication you guys put into making these moments of magic happen.
With all our hearts, thank you.

πŸ’™ Walking in Her Footsteps: A Moment to Honour Josiane Trierweiler

This year’s Broschtkriibslaf will carry with it a particularly heartfelt note for all of us at ALGSO.
On 20 August 2025, we lost someone who helped shape the very soul of our association β€” Josiane Trierweiler, a founding committee member and mother of our founder, Charel Trierweiler.

Josiane wasn’t just a name on our committee list. She was an undeniable presence. A steady hand. A smile that made you feel at home. A tireless advocate for the healing power of sport β€” not just on the body, but on the heart and soul too. Even from her hospital bed, she continued to contribute to the ALGSO with unmatched dedication.
That’s who she was: someone who always thought of others, even in her most difficult moments.

It’s no exaggeration to say that without her, ALGSO might never have existed. Her journey with cancer β€” and her unwavering belief in movement, connection, and hope β€” inspired her son to specialise in oncology through sports medicine. It was this path that led to the founding of ALGSO and, through it, the creation of a space where hundreds of cancer survivors and their families now come together to move, heal, and thrive.

At this year’s Broschtkriibslaf, we will take a quiet but meaningful moment to honour her.

✨ Join Us at 9:00 AM at the ALGSO Stand

Whether you plan on participating in the race afterwards or not, all those who wish to honour Josiane’s memory are warmly invited to gather with us a little before 9:00 AM at the ALGSO stand in Hesperange.

At 9:00 sharp, we’ll raise a glass together β€” in gratitude, in remembrance, and in celebration of a life lived with purpose, laughter, and boundless care for others. Please bring your own cup; drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will be provided.

Surrounded by the ALGSO community and Josiane’s family, stories and fond memories will be shared, and her spirit will shine through in every smile, hug, gentle squeeze or twinkle in our eyes.

πŸ“¬ You’ll also find a memory box at the stand, where you can leave a message, a story, or a few kind words for her family. These messages will be given to them at the end of the event.

This isn’t a ceremony of sadness. It’s a moment of love β€” for a woman who gave so much to so many. It’s also a reminder that the race we run, the steps we take, and the lives we touch β€” all matter.

We move forward with her spirit in our stride. πŸ’™

We love our planet don’t we? Clean air and green spaces… sigh…
Those refreshing summer forest walks with our loved ones (or our 4-legged ALGSO coaches πŸ˜‰), those dusk dinners in the garden as we watch the stars make their appearance, or those deep breaths, mid-yoga session, to cleanse the mind and soul…
So let’s make sure our grand-kids have the same lovely planet as we do, and the same lovely experiences of their own to look forward to, and do all we can to ensure that by prioritising the use of public transport!

It’s great for the planet, our conscience and have we mentioned that it’s free?

You can use the Mobiliteit app, or their online website for a hassle-free experience and plan your journey to Brotschkriibslaf 2025 in advance.

(We’re not sponsored, we promise! We are, unfortunately, no strangers to last-minute cancellations and delays…πŸ˜‚
So if we can aid you in having as great an experience as this event promises to be, we’re going to do just that, starting with the right recommendations!)

πŸ“Έ Why ALGSO Loves This Day

We asked our community during last year’s 2024 edition what participating in Broschtkriibslaf means to them:

β€œIt’s a message we can give to others to show them that they’re not alone and that we’re here for them if they want it. I’m walking with my 2nd family today.” – Josette, ALGSO member

β€œIt’s important to show our solidarity to those affected by cancer, as well as to their families. And to show how important support is.” – Arlette, ALGSO secretary

β€œIt’s about spreading awareness, and I’m really moved to see that so many people showed up, especially the men. It’s really encouraging.” – Elisabeth, ALGSO member

β€œNot enough people know how important sport is when dealing with cancer, and that it’s just as important to do it in a safe environment.” – Paul, ALGSO member

πŸ’ͺ Move Together. Heal Together.

We believe every step taken together is a step toward healing β€” not just physically, but emotionally, socially, and spiritually.

That’s why we invite you to meet us at the start line β€” in pink, with purpose, and full of ALGSO heart.

Whether you walk, jog, cheer or volunteer β€” you belong.
Let’s make this our biggest, pinkest, most powerful Broschtkriibslaf ever. πŸ’–
