Well, that’s exactly what’s happening!

On Sunday 8 March 2026, we’re teaming up with the incredible students of Lycée Mathias Adam for a day of football, fun, and fierce solidarity at the Fousbann Sports Complex in Differdange.

Welcome to Victory Against Cancer: a futsal tournament with a whole lot of heart! 🏆

What’s This All About?

Now, first things first: this tournament isn’t just any sporting event.
And here’s the story: the fantastic students of class 1TPCM1 at Lycée Mathias Adam are organising this charity tournament as part of their GEPRO course… and they’ve chosen to support us here, the ALGSO. How amazing is that?!

Honestly, that’s the kind of support that reminds us why community matters so much.

Every euro raised goes directly towards our mission: encouraging and supporting physical activity for people going through cancer treatment.
Because movement matters.
Community matters.
And showing up for each other? That matters most of all.

These young athletes understand something crucial: that movement heals, that sport empowers, and that coming together for a cause creates real impact.

Here’s what makes this event special: ALGSO won’t just be cheering from the sidelines.
We’re bringing our energy, our spirit, and our team to the court. We’re putting together a squad of five to seven players who will represent the ALGSO family and show everyone what resilience looks like.
Meanwhile, we’ll also be running a stand where you can meet the community, learn more about what we do, and feel the warmth that makes ALGSO, well… ALGSO!
This is community in action: people moving together and healing together, one goal at a time.

Why This Event Matters to Us

Here’s a wee reminder for the more competitive team-mates amongst us: sport isn’t just about winning matches or scoring points.
For us here at ALGSO, the Tournoi Futsal Differdange-Fousbann represents something deeper:
It’s a celebration of what our bodies can do, a reminder that life after cancer (or during it) doesn’t mean sitting on the sidelines.
Moreover, it’s an incredible opportunity to shine a spotlight on our mission and reach people who might not yet know about the transformative power of adapted sports.

Futsal is fast, energetic, and inclusive. It doesn’t require you to be a professional athlete. It welcomes everyone from all backgrounds and fitness levels.
That’s the ALGSO spirit right there. Whether you’re a cancer survivor, someone currently undergoing treatment, or simply someone who wants to support an incredible cause, this tournament is your moment to connect, celebrate, and be part of something bigger than yourself.

• 📍 Location: Complexe Sportif de Differdange – Fousbann (see map below)

• 💶 Entry Fee: €50 per team (paid in advance)
• ⏰ Registration Deadline: 28 February 2026

⚽ Team Format

• 5 players on the pitch (4 outfield + 1 goalkeeper)
• 2 substitutes allowed per team
• 10-minute matches on a futsal pitch
• Each team represents a participating company or organisation

And here’s the beautiful bit: ALGSO will be fielding a team of our own members, people directly affected by cancer, to play alongside everyone else. Because this tournament isn’t just about winning trophies; it’s about winning together. 💪

How the Will Day Unfold

11:00 – 12:00 | Welcome & Warm-Up

• Arrive at Fousbann and get registered
• Collect your team info (pitch assignments, match times, rules)
• Free warm-up time to shake off those nerves!

12:00 – 16:00 | Let the Games Begin!

• Official welcome and ALGSO introduction
• Tournament kick-off! ⚽
• Group stage matches (format depends on number of teams)
• Grab a bite between games – food trucks on site! 🍔🌮

16:30 – 17:30 | The Finals

• Semi-finals and finals – this is where it gets intense!

17:45 – 18:00 | Trophy Time & Closing Ceremony

• Trophies awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place 🥇🥈🥉
• A massive thank you to everyone involved
• Group photos and good vibes all around

We want this to be a day for everyone, not just the footballers! That’s why we’ve got plenty of fun lined up for younger spectators:

• ⚽ Mini football challenges: ball games, skill tests, and playful competitions
• 🎯 Fun obstacle courses: suitable for all ages
